The Blue Union are proud to announce a fundraiser for Saturday 25th February at 7pm in the Bramley Moore pub on the Dock Road, Liverpool.

The fundraiser will be in the form of a race night with the aim of raising some much needed funds for our planned “Day of Protest” for the home game against Tottenham Hotspur. The Blue Union also plan to make sizeable donations to a number of worthy charities including Yellowhouse Theatre Company and Down Syndrome Liverpool, two charitable trusts close to the heart of a number of our supporters.

In the absence of a league match that day, the invitation is open for all to attend. We are looking for potential sponsors to sponsor the races for that night as well as donations for the race winners and potential raffle prizes. If you would like to sponsor a race or make a donation or help out with organising on the night feel free to drop us a message via email: blueunion@goodisonpark.com

We look forward to seeing you all there.

Two weeks can be a long time in football and that is certainly the case for The Blue Union. Since our strategy meeting on January 25th it’s been pretty hectic for both us and Everton Football Club, the latter having a particularly busy time both on and off the pitch.

For us the hard work began after the strategy meeting a fortnight ago. . Discussions with Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council highlighted some operating and logistical difficulties with organising a protest for the Manchester City game last Tuesday, a decision that could potentially have worked in our favour taking into consideration all the events surrounding the Club over that 24 hour period, more on that later.

With everything that has happened during that first week it was easy to overlook a massive step forward in terms of support for The Blue Union with yet another fan site, Follow Everton joining the cause and swelling the ranks.

Formed in 2007, Follow Everton is one of the largest and rapidly growing online Everton communities. They bring a large core support to the group and offer yet another way of highlighting the issues plighting Everton Football Club to a larger audience and are a welcome addition to the team.

The disillusioned and ambivalent attitude that has been prevalent around Goodison this season was washed clear, albeit for a couple of days at least last week, with a flurry of activity in the transfer market. The dust was blown off the fax machine; the number for the Player Registration Department for the FA was looked up in the phone book and low and behold Everton made their second cash purchase in the January window in Nikica Jelavic; the first permanent first team recruits we have had through the door for 2 ½ years.

Coupled with the welcome return of midfield maestro Steven Pienaar on loan and a favourable FA Cup draw in the next round the return of the feel good factor at Goodison was too much to bare for the visit of Champions elect Man City last Tuesday who succumbed to their 8th defeat in 10 against the men in Royal Blue. Alas, for all the hard work, Evertonians came crashing down to an extremely cold earth with a bump at the DW Stadium on Saturday and showed yet again why now more than ever change is needed.

The Blue Unions campaign has not just centred on Everton’s inability to compete in the Transfer Market despite that being the best indicator for proving just what a mess we are in. Despite the wonderful 1-0 victory over a City team that looked like they would have preferred the cold of the arctic rather than the fire at Goodison, Saturday’s draw to Wigan, one of the worst teams to compete in the Premier League, goes to show that it is going to take a lot more than Darron Gibson, Nikica Jelavic and a few loan signings for us to consistently compete on the pitch, which at the end of the day I think it’s safe to say every Evertonian wants to see.

The Blue Unions strategy over the course of the next couple of weeks is one of raising awareness of the real issues surrounding Everton Football Club and building up support for a massive “Day of Protest” in and around Goodison Park for the home game against Tottenham Hotspur on March 10th.

We’re starting this Saturday at home to Chelsea. We intend to picket Radio City for their attempts at censorship in refusing to air any callers who wished to discuss off field incidents with Fans Liaison Officer Graeme Sharp on the edition of the Football Phone-in after the recent FA Cup tie against Tamworth. After the picket, officers and supporters of The Blue Union will be handing out leaflets around Goodison Park advertising the upcoming protest against Tottenham, and intend to do a similar leaflet drop before the FA Cup 5th round tie between either Blackpool or Sheffield Wednesday.

The attempts to paper over the cracks won’t wash with Evertonians, and the purchases of Jelavic and Gibson won’t matter one iota if we are forced to sell, yet again, our brightest talent in Rodwell, Barkley, Baines, Fellaini or Jagielka in the summer to keep the wolves from the door.

There are still more questions than answers that Evertonians need, no, deserve. What is being done to improve our commercial revenue streams to help us compete with our peers? What is being done about the short, medium and long term future of Goodison? When are the AGM’s going to be reinstated?

The message we are sending yet again to the Board of Directors at Everton Football Club is a clear and concise one, it will be sung loud and proud from the streets around Goodison Park on March 10th and it remains, as ever, “It’s time for change – Let go if you love the Club.”

On a cold wet Wednesday winter evening, Blue Union supporters, concerned by the all too apparent crisis enveloping our great club, packed into a Liverpool city centre venue to take part in a strategy meeting.

The purpose of the strategy meeting was for The Blue Union Officers to listen and gauge the mood of the fans, demonstrate to them that they’re an inclusive part of The Blue Union and allow them to participate in a democratic vote which will direct The Blue Union officers as they develop a strategy for the first few months of 2012.

Blue Union chair, Dave Kelly, after paying a tribute to recently deceased former player Gary Ablett and Spirit of Shankly Vice President, Paul Rice, who were both separately and warmly applauded by all present, delivered a rousing opening speech attacking the club’s policies which have been the breeding grounds for deceit, mismanagement and underachievement which has ultimately, and all too predictably, led to the club’s stagnation.

Following Dave’s rousing opening speech; Simon Magner delivered a brief presentation on the Blue Union’s own “Everton prospectus”. Simon, secretary of The Blue Union, explained that having looked at the attempt the club had made in producing a sale prospectus The Blue Union believed that they could deliver a much more professional version and highlights of this were displayed for the audience.

John Harrison, The Blue Union’s fans liaison officer, also gave a brief presentation on the club’s all too apparent lack of a genuine and cohesive communication policy with the fans, which is a constituent part of UEFA’s licensing platform.

John heavily criticised the cosmetic attempts that have been made by Everton to comply with this regulation; attempts such as the clearly artificial fan’s forum that is, despite numerous suggestions by The Blue Union, largely anonymous, unapproachable and essentially impotent as a medium for addressing the major problems that fans, and ordinary shareholders, are experiencing; namely the increasing unaccountability of the present board which initiated the fight back from The Blue Union who endeavour to expose the truth over the actions of this board that we are having to endure; a board that has decimated the business and whose actions are now being made apparent on the field of play.

The meeting was then thrown open to the fans. Whilst some expressed their frustration at the board many spoke passionately and offered a variety of suggestions for The Blue Union to consider and following a lengthy meeting, the following evening, we have now agreed upon our strategy for the coming weeks.

In deciding this strategy The Blue Union officers need to consider peoples safety and well being. They also need to comply with many rules and regulations and we have a need to consult with Merseyside Police and the City Council, as it is imperative that all our organised activities are peaceful, legal and, importantly, repeatable. Our campaign isn’t spontaneous; it’s well planned, deliberate and is designed to achieve our objectives.

Whilst it was felt by those at the recent meeting that a protest at the Manchester City match on Tuesday 31st January was desirable, it is, after consulting with Merseyside Police, unfortunately impossible due to operational difficulties.

However, The Blue Union have agreed on a plan of action which is designed to bring maximum media attention to our cause and give the supporters the opportunity to vent their frustrations at the intransigence of a board that refuses to listen to an ever growing number of their fans.

In addition to the Blue Union’s ongoing behind the scenes activities, we plan to conduct a mass leaflet campaign at the Chelsea match on February 11th and demonstrate outside Radio City on the same day as we are vehemently opposed to their policy of refusing to allow Graeme Sharp to accept calls from fans wishing to discuss The Blue Union.

Our main focus will be on delivering a spectacular “Day of Protest” in and around Goodison Park at the Spurs game on 10th March 2012. The day’s activities will include an aerial protest before the game, a mass demonstration outside the ground, leafleting matchgoing Evertonians and picketing strategic points before and after the game. The day’s activities will be filmed and transmitted live over the Internet and the whole event will be preceded by a conventional media and an Internet social media campaign to highlight the reasons behind the day’s events and bring attention to the individual director’s performances whilst running OUR club.

Organising events such as this take time and effort and we are grateful for all those who have offered to help the campaign following our recent meeting; we need more. These activities take time to arrange and are expensive; so in order to cover the cost we shall be organising a fundraising event and details will be passed to all our supporters. We need your help and together we can make a difference.

We are determined to be the vehicle for our supporter’s frustrations, but in doing so we will always endeavour to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all Everton supporters and as ever we will only advocate peaceful activities with the prerequisite that they are at all times within the law.

The Blue Union

The next Blue Union public meeting takes place in one week at The Casa, Hope Street, Liverpool from 7pm on Wednesday 25th January 2012.

The goings on at our club continue to be extremely dynamic and this strategy meeting is to gauge opinions from our supporters on the way forward for the Blue Union with the aim of preventing further stagnation, the continued lack of transparency and accountability of Everton Football Club.

It’s vitally important that we have strong feedback that will enable The Blue Union to carry out our aims and objectives. We think this meeting will be well attended and as such people need to arrive early, if possible, to ensure entry into the meeting as space will be at a premium at The Casa.

The Blue Union has sent out invites to others to attend as guest speakers and put forward differing views and opinions. The Blue Union sincerely hope that those invites are taken up. We shall make public in due course the guest list.

We hope to see you there.

Onward Evertonians, oppose stagnation and support the team.

The Blue Union wishes to issue the following statement in response to the above comment made by Everton chairman Bill Kenwright during a brief and now well publicised exchange with a small group of Evertonians prior to Saturday’s 3rd round FA Cup tie with Tamworth at Goodison Park.

‘The Blue Union’ are a group of ordinary match-going fans who have come together in sharing a common goal – the safeguarding and betterment of Everton Football Club.

Whilst our aims and objectives are clearly contradictory to how we perceive the current direction of the club under Mr Kenwright’s leadership, we have always endeavoured to ensure that our protests have been carried out in a peaceful, transparent and dignified manner.

As fans who have put a lot of money, time and devotion into following our club through good times and bad, we find Mr Kenwright’s comments to be incredibly disrespectful, deliberately divisive and without any substance whatsoever. Not only are his words offensive to the officers of the group, but to the many thousands of Evertonians who have shown their direct support for our campaign.

The fans who questioned Mr Kenwright did so of their own volition, and independently of the members of The Blue Union that were present. We commend the civilised and dignified manner in which they tried to find answers to their concerns, and made particular note of the Chairman’s failings to answer any of them. We would encourage other Evertonians to question the chairman and other members of the board in a similarly civilised manner before all our games.

With regard to the specific allegation of betrayal, was it The Blue Union who informed the fans, the shareholders and the Council that the money was ring fenced for the then proposed iconic stadium on the Kings Dock? Was it The Blue Union who attempted to pass off a Walter Mitty character, Chris Samuelson, as an Evertonian investor at a shareholders meeting? Was it The Blue Union who attempted to move this great club to a former council refuse dump and in the process mislead the fans into believing that a supermarket chain were contributing £52m towards the construction cost of the stadium which turned out to be a bare faced lie?

Was it the Blue Union who handed over a legacy from Sir John Moores to the bank? Was it The Blue Union who attempted to mislead the fan base by informing them that the abortive Everton Place development was delayed due to an insurance problem? Nothing but the best is good enough? The sheer effrontery to attempt the deflection of responsibility for the many acts of betrayal against our famous motto by the chairman of the board is disgraceful.

With last Wednesday’s visit of Bolton Wanderers attracting the lowest home league gate for a decade (29,561), we would respectfully suggest that Mr Kenwright should be doing his utmost to bring fans back through the turnstiles as opposed to further disillusioning them.

Quite simply, Evertonians have had enough. Enough empty promises of investment, enough of the stagnation at the club, and enough of funding the contemptuous attitude that Mr Kenwright displays toward Evertonians – previously evidenced by the abolition of AGM’s at our club.

The Blue Union

The following is a letter sent to John Thompson, Sports Editor of The Liverpool ECHO last Sunday 4 December 2011. As yet (9th December) have NOT had a reply from him or other reporters copied in to the correspondence. We publish it here as proof to Everton supporters that The People’s Group are lobbying the local media for more coverage of the affairs inside the corridors of Goodison Park. We would hope the Liverpool ECHO (the self styled ‘The Voice of Merseyside’) listens to its people and indeed has read our correspondence even if they do not see fit to reply to us.

Evening

After today’s (Sunday 4 December 2011) debacle and the reasons for it that ensued (from Moyes), we feel we need to ask you a question.

At what point will our local newspaper start being critical of the Club and start asking the legitimate questions we are asking? Critical of the hieraracy, critical of the painful football we are having to watch, and critcal of the leadership at the Club?

At the meeting we had with you and your fellow Everton correspondents , you stated you could attack Liverpool FC because you had a source from within. Well now the emails are rightly or wrongly out there, and the information is there to see, why haven’t questions been asked?

At the time the Club was in financial meltdown, but through you, told the fans that it’s not. They even made you publically apologise for stating the Arteta money went to the bank, and suggested they just didn’t have time to spend it. Will the ECHO remember this in January and remind the club they should have £10m to spend?

The emails described the lack of leadership, the paranoia, comparing it to like ‘working in a kindergarten’ and told how they would use various media outlets for ‘favours’ including yourselves, to try and deflect attention away from, and attack fans who genuinely care about their club, for all the above reasons! It seemed Ian Ross privately shared our concerns.

And yet we are supposed to be putting our trust in these people to sell the Club to the right buyer at the right price, on top of all the failures of the past. The complete farce that was the NTL deal that we are still paying for now, the lies over Kings Dock, the lies over the Fortress Sports Fund, the lies over Kirkby (that the CEO even admitted at a public enquiry!!) to name but a few. These are the same people who are now telling us they are selling the club. Kenwright told us personally there is no plan.

We find it incredible that the local newspaper, being armoured with all this information, is not prepared to start questioning the Club.

Question how this board can be trusted after everything that has been revealed.

Question the football on offer.

Question the methods the club are employing to sell the Club.

Question the price of the Club.

Question where the Club is going.

We thought you were a newspaper for the fans? A newspaper of truth? Well start getting the information out there, stand up for your own newspaper (the newspaper that Robert Elstone said ‘owes us’) and start asking questions for the Everton fans.

This isnt good enough. We have taken one point from teams above fifteenth position this season. Lost four at home already. The football is drab. The consequences could be dire.

This is our Club. Do you dare to start upsetting blue Bill and his merry men?

ENDS

Make your own mind up…

Everton’s hierarchy has always had problems with numbers; there was the £30m ring fenced for the Kings Dock stadium that turned out to be a figment of somebody’s theatrical imagination, the £50m from Tesco that turned out to be little more than a stage illusion and of course there’s the managers transfer budget which has been the square root of nothing for the past couple of years.

Yesterday, Everton’s Fan Liaison Officer, Graeme Sharp, whose job it is to improve communications and relations with the fans told the media that the Blue Union protest was attended by one man and his dog. Evertonians will of course be eternally grateful to Graeme for his unerring ability to see the back of net; these days it appears he can’t see past the end of his nose as the above photograph shows it was very well attended.

The Blue Union’s second march was a great success as it attracted the massive media attention that their campaign needs and allows very frustrated Evertonians the opportunity to vent their anger at the current board’s horrendous tenure of our great club and refusal to consider bringing some much needed professionalism into what has been revealed as a club being run like a kindergarten.

At the conclusion of the march one very well known Evertonian, and former shareholder, stated that after over forty years of watching Everton home and away, as far away as Thailand, he wouldn’t be setting foot in the ground until the present board had left; he joined the 6,000 stay away fans that are protesting with their feet and contributing to a possible £3m reduction in matchday turnover for the year.

It has been a whirlwind three months since the infamous Blue Union interview with Bill Kenwright. Whether or not you agree with the Blue Union, there can be no doubting that we are only doing this because we want a better Everton. An Everton with a future and an Everton we can be proud of again. If anyone thinks we are enjoying seeking publicity for the cause, or enjoying taking the abuse, or enjoying constantly being told to ‘just support the team’ or enjoying being told what we are doing is ‘kopite behaviour’ (what does that even mean?), then you are mistaken.

We became a coalition of four different fans groups a few months ago, and what has happened in that time has affected all of our personal lives. Arguments with the other half, blood pressure going through the roof, and many highs and lows. It’s been an emotional roller coaster. But we do it because we want a better Everton. This isn’t a call for sympathy; it’s just telling it how it is. We are only human and we are learning as we are going along. We don’t claim to know it all, we don’t claim to represent the majority, but we try to tell it how it is, and when we do get bits of information, we like to pass it on (without revealing any sources of course), and we judge our actions and words on the information we have, the information that is out there and of course how the club is performing.

What has become clear to see is that some fans support us, some are against us and a lot of fans are caught in the middle. What we do not understand however, are the personal insults (from all fans by the way) and in particular, the referring to other fans as kopites. This is becoming tedious and boring now. We all love the club; some have different opinions, and that’s fair enough. But does that make the other fan a kopite? For example, is protesting something only kopites do? Only last week we could see Blackburn supporters protesting against their manager. Wolves fans protesting against theirs. Man united fans famously wore green and yellow scarves to protest against the Glaziers. Are they kopites too? And for those who can’t remember, we protested on the pitch against Johnson after the Coventry game in 1997. I don’t remember that being called kopite behaviour, so why is it now? We do what we do because we love the club. It has nothing to do with Liverpool or ‘kopite behaviour’. We have also given our stance time and time again that during the 90 minutes, the team gets our support. Outside the 90 minutes, the focus of the Blue Union remains the same. So the ‘just support the team’ comment is outdated now too. We have said ‘doing nothing’ is not an option anymore, and we 100% believe that is the case, so we will carry on the fight against the club. It is a long and hard process though and people who accuse us of not doing anything are way off the mark. We are welcome to any ideas and everything that has been thrown our way has been considered.

The reasons for the campaign are obvious and have been stated. Quite simply we believe this board has had its chance. The 24/7 search for investment, the collapsed stadium deals, the FSF, the NTL deal and the lies to gain votes for Kirkby have constantly been repeated and are well known. The new issues only make us more determined to fight the fight. We as a group, have always felt that investors have been interested in buying Everton but didn’t follow that through for whatever reason (the CEO confirmed this to us, even though Bill told us there is nobody out there as he has heard there is no money in the world).

An argument thrown at us has been ‘If people have been interested, why haven’t they come out and said then?’. Well the answer lies in Robert Elstone’s latest blog where he states in respect to interested parties ‘we respect the confidentiality agreements which prevent either side from disclosing the interest’. Therefore, we will never know who has been interested and why they didn’t follow through.

Also, the Blue Union has always felt, and been under the impression, that the board want too much for their shares, which is a reason why we can’t sell. Well now Keith Harris (remember him? The man who Bill claims delivered a man in a 1 bedroom flat in Singapore) has been talking to Sky Sports News. When asked ‘how much is Everton for sale for, £150-£160m?’ he replied ‘You are not far wrong’. If that is the case, that is a not a price reflecting the state of the club, if you consider this board has sold off all Everton’s assets, and is a business losing £5m per year. And if they did somehow manage to sell at that price, each board member would make a big profit on their shares, for investing NOTHING into the club. Didn’t Bill say he is ‘living proof that you can’t make money out of football’ last month? Is this price in the best interests of the club? To coin a phrase, we think not!

We are adamant in our aims that this board should appoint an autonomous group of professionals to oversee the sale of the club, who can sell the club to the right people, at the right price that is in the best interests of Everton Football Club, not a price that suits the board members and their shares. Until something gives, we will continue to fight our cause, starting with a protest against Wolves next week.

We hope people will be there in big numbers to show your feelings against the board. No clowns, no cakes, no gimmicks (as we have said, we listen). We are just Evertonians, just fans who want change at their club. If that makes us ‘kopites’ in some people’s eyes, then so be it. Don’t worry what other people think though; this is YOUR club, and your chance to do something about it. Hope to see you on Spellow Lane from 1.45pm on Saturday 19th November.

IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE

After our piece earlier in the week comparing both Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ ‘lifelong fan’ chairmen (who oversaw a takeover of his Club for £10) today we compare the both clubs stadiums. When Sir Jack Hayward handed the control of the club over to present chairman Steve Morgan in 2007 the majority of Molineux was developed in the wake of the Lord Justice Taylor report (Molineux was the first stadium to be renovated following Taylor) and is less than 20 years old.

Despite this Wolves have unveiled plans for a £40 million regeneration of Molineux, which will see an initial two-staged, phased development for the start of the 2014/15 season. These plans represent an exciting vision by Morgan who is determined to improve supporters’ facilities, bring fans much closer to the pitch to enhance match day atmosphere and create new and improve income streams for the Club.

The plans will also provide a boost to the local economy, with new jobs created in both during construction and, long-term, as part of the bigger and improved stadium.

After the aforementioned Taylor Report, by the late 1990’s Wolves had completely redeveloped their antiquated Molineux ground into a modern 28,000+ stadium, made up of four new individual stands. Two 2-tier side stands with exec boxes, and 2 single-tier end stands. This was achieved while in the lower leagues, with only small attendances and appeared to represent an ambitious, solid and functional solution to all their future stadium needs. This alone represents a far great achievement than anything undertaken by Everton boards in the same period.

Their new owner (Steve Morgan) had reservations about some of the excessive viewing distances and the limited capacity of the stadium, and decided to do something about it. In a quite a bold move, comparatively new stands are now being systematically replaced by bigger and even more modern structures, while maintaining good capacity levels throughout construction phases. In other words having already built a far more modern stadium than ours, they are now doing it all again… in a period, when we have delivered nothing comparable. The following images show the scheme (Phases 1-3 of a potentially 4-phase project, although phase 3 may be subject to changes):

The new 2 tier stands are built in stages with the lower tiers operational while the upper tiers are finished off. A system of construction that has been used elsewhere and could be equally effectively applied to Goodison Park:

Wolves own website covers the construction:

http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/Gallery/0,,10307~2474171,00.html

The cost of the first 2-phases is just £40m:

Phase 1 – £16m (7,700 seats) End stand
Phase 2 – £24m (13,000 seats) Side stand

These are up to date costings. The third phase has not been finalised yet, but will be just £16m if it mirrors the other new end stand. Ultimately a fourth phase will yield a total capacity of approx 50k with the addition of a 24k capacity side stand (approx £35m).

THEY SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE:
Just a few months before Destination Kirkby was unveiled, Keith Wyness laid the foundations for the serial deceptions that followed, by magically announcing at a shareholders meeting that GP could not be redeveloped due to both physical and financial constraints. The above example shows this for the lie it was then, and still is now. In fact additional capacity and concourse areas can be added to Goodison even more cheaply than that shown if existing structures are just expanded as shown below (existing roof line in grey):

Or incorporating significantly increased corporate and executive provision.

Similarly, the Park end can be expanded very substantially to create the largest single-tier end stand in Europe, with the existing seats shown in blue (all images to scale):

And linked to an expanded Bullens Road stand:

These images represent a few simple options (there are a multitude of variations on the theme) to increase capacity and add further quality to an already revered, respected and historic stadium. The famed atmosphere and iconology of Toffeeopolis would be greatly enhanced, with modernity and tradition existing side by side. Alternatively, one or two large new stands could be built to replace the existing structures as shown at Wolves, with new roof structures for the remaining stands to greatly reduce obstructed views there. Far from being unfeasible or unviable, this strategy can the cheapest way to progress, and the only one that guarantees continuity and does not jeopardise identity in a way that any move cannot.

The example shown by Wolves (and many others) illustrates clearly that all such options should be fully explored, with perhaps a design competition commissioned to identify all the possibilities. Only then can the theme of our motto be truly enacted and adhered to.

With the impending second Blue Union protest taking place against Wolverhampton Wanderers, it’s as good a time as any to make comparisons between two men: Sir Jack Hayward lifelong Wolves fan and Bill Kenwright lifelong Everton fan.

It really does irk us somewhat when journalists like Martin Samuel see it fit to patronise Evertonians and tell us that Bill Kenwright is the biggest Bluenose on the planet.

He is an actor who has a way with words. Yes, he loves Everton and yes he used to sit in the boys pen. Our fathers and their fathers before them sat in the boy’s pen, and followed Everton everywhere after working 60 hours a week on the docks. What makes Mr Kenwright a bigger blue than anyone else?

When Sir Jack was looking for a new owner for Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey said: “Everything will be handed over – all the assets, the holding company, the academy facilities, the training ground, the bricks and mortar at Molineux, the players and the brand name. Any owner of Wolves is prevented from asset-stripping or selling the ground for housing and leaving the team with nowhere to play.”

Bill Kenwright can’t say this, because the cold hard truth of the matter is Everton Football Club do not have any assets left (an ageing squad?), because unlike Sir Jack he has asset-stripped his club – the club he loves so much. We no longer own the training ground, the Kitbag deal is a disgrace (but at least it looks good on Robert Elstone’s C.V), we are millions of pounds in debt, and we have no revenue stream for at least two seasons thanks to the shady Vibrac deal.

Sir Jack Hayward wanted “NOTHING BUT THE BEST” for Wolverhampton Wanderers. From 1990 to 2007 he invested £50million of his own personal wealth into the club. When it came to selling the club, Sir Jack did not seek to reclaim any of his millions on the basis the man who succeeded him invested £30million into the club. The new owner Steve Morgan bought the club for a nominal £10 fee with the guarantee of £30million of investment.

http://www.shropshirestar.com/latest/2007/05/21/wolves-takeover-statement/

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-431062/Molineux-wont-sold-Wolves-takeover-goes-ahead.html

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wolverhampton_wanderers/6937817.stm

Everton Football Club’s chairman Bill Kenwright has invested nothing into the club since he took over from Peter Johnson in 1999. That’s not us exaggerating that is a fact. Actually, the whole board of Everton director’s have not invested a single penny into our great Club. John Wood’s, Robert Earl and Sir Phillip Carter between them have not even invested the sum of money Sir Jack Hayward sold Wolves for!

Mr Kenwright told the listeners in a recent radio interview with Christian Purslow: “I know Liverpool had five interested parties. Times that by ten and that’s how many I have had.” That’s fifty interested parties then that have approached Everton FC and not one of them has been in a better place to move the Club forward than good old ‘Blue Bill’?

His eleven years of lies and deceit are starting to catch up with him and the natives have become restless.

It really is annoying when journalist’s get roped in by Bill Kenwright and his way with words. It would suit you all better to actually look at the facts http://peoplesgroup.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/the_blue_union_update_01.pdf to see what exactly has gone on at Everton during his tenure. The man and his “friends” are out of their depths.

It is the Blue Union’s belief that an autonomous group of hard nosed businessmen should be appointed to sell the Club in the best interests of Everton Football Club and not the interests of their shareholders back pocket.

The club should be sold for the price of the debt, because thanks to Mr Kenwright any potential new owner will inherit a Club with no assets, an ageing stadium which has had no renovation/expansion work done to it for years (The Park End stand under Peter Johnson), a squad that has had no investment for three seasons, a merchandise deal that mean’s we will only pocket £3million a year regardless of sales and no revenue stream (TV money) for the next two years because someone in the British Virgin Islands is being paid £14million a year for their services.

On Saturday 19th November 2011 there will be a second Blue Union protest march before the Wolves match. We felt it an appropriate fixture for a protest. Sir Jack v Blue Bill – One sold his club for the debt and a nominal £10, not profiting from the deal and the other who is allegedly asking for £140m for a football club with little or no assets!

Anyone who wishes to attend the protest can do so by meeting at the council field on Spellow Lane at 2pm. Our message is clear Let Go If You Love The Club.

It’s time for change.
